Production Base at Puzzlewood for Flesh and Stone, 30 July 2009
Dave Edwards: Haven't seen anything at caves yet, though there were security guys there the
other day, but no BBC vehicles or otherwise.
Went to Puzzlewood last night and took some pics. As you will see in the pics there's lots of vans etc by the entrance but about 300m away theres vans all gathered around by the edge of the woods - this is where the filming is going on. There were lights visible in the woods just beyond the vans.
About 8.30PM Karen Gillan arrived by car and at 9pm Matt Smith emerged and walked across the field in front of us on his own dressed in what looked like a "mods" type parka coat, there was a 4 people standing with me who had come from Worcester to look and they were saying "I wish he would look this way," so I shouted "MATT!" and he looked around toward us; I waved and he waved back to us! The little 7 year old girl standing with us was chuffed to bits that he had waved. The security guard went into one of the portable buildings and got her a Doctor Who magazine and a card with Karen Gillan's picture on it, something that the stars put their autograph on for fans.
About 30mins later Karen appeared and with 3 other people made her way across the fields over to the woods as well. Soon after some people arrived at the gate and told the security man that they were "extras" and he let them in.
The security guy said that the best time to get a close up of the stars will be Monday night at the caves. It should be easy to get some close up pics as the cave entrance is right next to the road about 10m and the have to walk down a path to get to it alongside the road also. But I guess once they're in the caves - no chance!
