A4232 (Grangetown/Butetown Link)
Cardiff, Wales

The A4232 (Cardiff Link Road) is a major trunk road connecting Cardiff from the M4, and is still being expanded with the eventual aim of making a "southern ring-road" joining up with the M4 again east of Cardiff. The Grangetown Link section was completed in 1988, and the Butetown Link section in 1995. glued segmental bridge in the UK.

How to get here:

»

Road: M4 - Exit the M4 at junction 33, and head south on the A4232 towards Cardiff until you pass the B4267 (Leckwith) junction. (8.9 miles, 12m) +

Parking Details

NONE! The road is an urban clearway, so you will have to have a passenger taking photos as you drive along the road!

Where to walk

It is possible to walk across the bridge from the Queens Gate junction to the A4055 side across the bay, which will enable you to take photos in a less"snap-n-grab" fashion.

Additional Notes:

»

In The Runaway Bride the buildings seen behind the robot Santa are on the south side of the road, indicating the taxi is travelling east, but the shots for the scene show the chase being on the western carriageway!

»

In The Runaway Bride the bridge approach is 'nearest' to Butetown, but earlier parts of the chase show signs further west of this point!
