Amersham Road (A413)
Denham, Buckinghamshire

The A413 runs between Amersham to the north and the A40 to the south, passing alongside the Chalfonts. The A40 end becomes a dual carriageway, and southbound passes an electricity station.

The M25 motorway was constructed right over part of the layby a couple of years after filming.

How to get here from Isle of Wight Farm:

»

Road: From Over The Misbourne, head south on the A413 (or from the A413 layby exit and turn around back south). As you reach the railway bridge crossing the dual carriageway the layby used in the story will be just afterwards and this runs under the M25. (0.8 miles, 4m) +

Additional Notes:

»

Two factors come into play to alter the location from filming; firstly the flourishing plantlife along the carriageway, but more in particular the M25; the way in which filming distorts distance makes the actual position of Vanessa's car and the TARDIS materialisation point uncertain on the layby - it might even have been under the M25 bridge itself!
