The Private Garden is a walled garden to the east of the house, with a level terrace leading onto a central lawn with a long fishpond. This area is not always open to the public if the houseowners are in reseidence, but is still visible through the three gates that lead to other parts of the gardens.

Walk: Walk through the Bell Gate to the Private Garden. Note: this is sometimes locked when the houseowners are in residence, in which case follow the path north to the octagonal pond, and then turn left and walk through to the White Garden, where there is a gate to the Private Garden to the south. +
