Central Library
Alexandra Road, Swansea, SA1 5DX

Swansea's Central Library (originally known as the "Free Library") was opened in 1887 by British Prime Minister William Gladstone. One of its notable features is a circular reading room. The Library was closed on 6th November 2007 in favour of a new library at the Civic Centre. Swansea's Metropolitan University is currently believed to be interested in acquiring the empty building.
