John's Hole Quarry is near Dartford in Kent, but is no longer in use.
11 Jun 2009: Chuck Foster: At the time of my visit there was work in progress in the quarry, though I don't know whether that means the quarry is in use again or not.
How to get here from Lafarge Cement (Northfleet):

Road: Head north/west on the A226 until you reach Stone. Continue along the A226 and the quarry will be on the left-hand side (by park just after Oak Road). (3.1 miles, 8m) +

For the east side of the quarry, best place to park is in Oak Road, off London Road (A226) - the quarry runs alongside the park. For the south side, it is easiest to park in Kirby Road, near the allotment - there is a footpath by the allotment that leads to Clarendon Gardens, and from there walk to the end of the road and turn left onto the A296, the quarry being on the left-hand side.

"This was taken through the only gap in the foliage by the quarry off the A296 at its southern end. You can't really see much here, certainly not the tunnel entrance."
