Marlow's weir was originally in place to hold back water for local mills in the area, and was said to be dangerous due to the sharp bend under the bridge. The existing weir was built in the same place.

How to get here from Gossmore Lane:

Road: Head along Gossmore Lane and it eventually bears right into Mill Road. At the end, turn left into Station Road, and then left again into the High Street. Cross the bridge, and then pull into the hotel/restaurant on the left. The weir can be viewed from the riverbank behind the hotel. Parking: car park. (0.85 miles, 3m) +
