The Celynen Collieries Institute was established in 1898 by a group of local miners with the aim to provide social amenities of fellow workers. The Memorial Hall was built in 1924, dedicated to those who died in the First World War. The cinema is located on the upper floor of the Memorial Hall.

Road: M4 - Exit the M4 at junction 28, and head north on the A4072 to the next roundabout, and onto the A467. Keep on it until you reach Newbridge, then take the second exit onto Bridge Street. As you pass the station bear left onto the High Street. (9.8 miles, 23m) +
