Penllyn Castle is believed to be one of the first Norman keeps in Glamorgan. Originally an oblong tower, there are two surviving walls forming a corner of a derelict stable adjacent to the current mansion.

How to get here:

Road: A48 - Follow the A48 to between Pentre Meyrick and Cowbridge. On the northern side is a junction leading to Penlynn, and the castle driveway is on the right as you enter the village. (0.5 miles, ~1m) +

Where to walk

There is a public footpath that runs along the drive, but this will then bear off into the field bypassing the house itself.
