Shakespeare's Globe
21 New Globe Walk, Southwark, London, SE1 9DT

Shakespeare's Globe was the brainchild of actor/director Sam Wannamaker, who wanted a more lasting monument to William Shakespeare. Building work commenced in 1987 and was eventually finished in 1997. The Globe houses an exhibition on Shakespeare and the building's recreation project, and the theatre is an active playhouse.
