RAF Tangmere was an important base during the Second World War, with many fighter squadrons based there. The history of the site is now marked by the Aviation Museum which is on the edge of the old airfield, now a nursery and fields.

Road: Exit Park Lane, turning left, and then cross over the A285 onto The Street. Follow this all the way to the roundabout with the A27, crossing over to enter Tangmere on Meadow Way. Turn left onto Tangmere Road, and the Aviation Museum will be on the left as the road bends right. (1.6 miles, 11m) +
