The Wales Millennium Centre opened in November 2004 and quickly established itself as cultural centre for the country, providing facilities for the performing arts. It is home to several Arts companies, including Welsh National Opera.

19 Nov 2006: A special concert took place at the Centre to celebrate the music of Doctor Who, with proceeds going towards Children in Need.

1 Oct 2007: The future of the Millennium Centre has been under threat due to escalating debts owed by the organisation. BBC News reported that it is in serious danger of insolvency, being unable to pay its current debt of some £13.5m and more losses to come. The Centre itself has said in a followup report that it "business as usual".
