The castle is a folly built in the 1870s for the 3rd Marquess of Bute, founded on the remains of a 13th century castle.

Admission: Admission to the castle itself is £3.00; the grounds are free

Road: M4 - Exit the M4 at junction 32, and head north on the A4054 towards Tongynlais. As you pass through the village, turn right onto Mill Road and follow it up to the castle (signposted). (0.9 miles, 3m) +
