The museum opened in 1948, sited in the grounds of St Fagans Castle. Its aim is to preserve and portray Welsh life in the form of its craftsmen, buildings, and other aspects of 'village' life.

Admission: Free, open 10:00am-5:00pm

How to get here:

Bus: Cardiff Bus Map - Take route 32 from Cardiff Bus Station, and this goes all the way to the museum. Also route 320 passes through St Fagans. +

Road: M4 - Exit the M4 at junction 33, then head south on the A4232 to Culverhouse Cross. At the roundabout, turn left onto the A48 and then left again onto the Michaelston Road. Follow this up to St Fagans, and the museum is on the left as you cross the railway bridge. (4.5 miles, 8m) +
