St Matthew's Church
Dorothy Street, Trallwn, Pontypridd

The church was built in 1908, and had unique features such as some beautiful stained glass windows from Eton College and the 17th Lancers, plus terracotta arches running through its centre. It is now disused, and planning permission was obtained in 2007 to allow the plot to be converted into flats.

How to get here:

»

Road: A470 - Exit the A470 at Pontypridd (A4223), and then head off the roundabout on Bridge Street/West Street. This bears right into South Street and then left onto Middle Street. Continue along this oneway street until you reach Ralph Street; turning right, follow it up to the church. +

Production Notes:

»

27 Jun 2010: Jeremy Roberts (owner): Torchwood filmed there about 2 years ago and filmed inside and all loved the building, John Barrowman wanted to buy a completed apartment, apartment is not really the right word because there are over 180 sqm each the size of a large 4 bed detached house each. I think it was the amazing internal features that they loved the most, it has stain glass window donated from Eton college, 17th lancers and a few others I can't remember.
