Church Lane car park
Chalfont St. Peter, Buckinghamshire

The parish of Chalfont St. Peter was established in the seventh century along the river Misbourne; with a population of some 13000 it is now one of the largest villages in south-east England! A large car park can be found behind the church.

Road: A413 - Follow the A413 north from the A40, or south from Amersham; when you reach the roundabout signposted for Chalfont St. Peter, enter the village and then turn right into Church Lane; the car park is along the road next right. Parking: in the car park (pay and display) +

None of the buildings surrounding the car park look like the ones seen on screen; however, with development work under way for new homes on one side it is quite possible the originals have been demolished.

St. Peter's Court (Terror of the Autons). Cross the car park to the southern side of the church, where there is a pathway leading to the High Street; cross the High Street and St. Peter's Court shops are directly in front.

Amersham Road (A413) (Logopolis). Road (2.5 miles, 6m) : Head out of the car park, turning left onto Church Lane and left again onto the High Street. At the roundabout take the A413 south. As you reach the railway bridge crossing the dual carriageway the layby used in the story will be just afterwards. Parking: anywhere in the layby. Parking anywhere on the layby.

Hodgemoor Woods (Terror of the Autons). Road (3.8 miles, 11m) : Head out of the car park, turning left onto Church Lane and left again onto the High Street. At the roundabout take the A413 north. When you reach the roundabout signposted Chalfont St. Giles, turn left into the village; turn right onto Silver Hill, and as it becomes Dodds Lane bear left onto Bottrells Lane. Continue on until you reach Bottom House Farm Lane, and there is a car park on the right.

Elmswell House (Paradise Towers). Road (3.0 miles, 7m) : Head out of the car park, turning left onto Church Lane and left again onto the High Street. At the roundabout take the A413 north. When you reach the roundabout signposted Chalfont St. Giles, turn right up the hill onto Vache Lane. This then becomes Nightingales Lane, and the house is on the left after you pass Roughwood Lane. Parking: roadside.
