Dancing Ledge Caves
Langton Matravers, Isle of Purbeck, Dorset

The Dancing Ledge is the site of an old portland stone quarry, not too far from in Dorset. Now owned by the National Trust, the area is open to visitors and rock climbers. A number of caves exist along the coast here, though at Dancing Ledge the mining cave has now been sealed off to protect bat colonies.

24 Dec 1971: Director Fiona Cumming visited the site as a possible location for filming , but the caves were ultimately rejected on safety grounds, something that was able to provide as a public attraction. (src :The Mutants DVD)
