Imperial Park Bypass
nr Coedkernew, Newport, NP10

This closed dual-carriageway appears to have been built as a bypass or access road around the Imperial Park just outside Newport; however, it doesn't seem to have ever been used (apart from filming!).

7 Sep 2009: Rubbish-strewn photos - The road seems to be in a right mess, with dirt banks and general rubbish strewn all over the place. Whether this is "set dressing" for something filming here, or locally-made in order to stop races on the unused road is uncertain at present!

5 Sep 2010: No real difference to the road, it's still rubbish-strewn!

How to get here:

»

Road: M4 - Exit the M4 at junction 28, then follow the A48 westwards towards Castleton. At the third roundabout (Coedkernew) turn left and the bypass runs from the next junction. +

Parking Details

It is possible to park alongside the bypass on the side of the roundabout.

Where to walk

At the roundabout walk through the gateway onto the closed dual carriageway.

"You can see where the northern end of the bypass is completely overgrown, something hidden by the traffic in the screenshot!"
