Sovereign Place
Wallingford, Oxfordshire, OX10 9BZ

Formerly known as Associated British Maltsters

The Wallingford plant of Paul's Malt (Associated British Maltsters) was opened in 1961; it boasted its own railway for easy access to the distilleries (ceased running in 1981), and its huge silo was a major landmark in the area, nicknamed "Wallingford Cathedral". The company was purchased by Greencore Malting Group in 1998. The Wallingford site was announced for closure in 1999, and the silos were eventually demolished in 2004.

Sovereign Place, built by Linden Homes, is now situated on the site.
