St. Martin's Plain Camp is an MOD site in Shorncliffe, close to the M20 on the outskirts of Folkstone.

How to get here:

Road: M20 - Exit the M20 at Shorncliffe/Cheriton (J12), and then west on the A20 (Ashford Road). Head under the railway and then turn left into Newington Road. +

Where to walk

Walk to the A20 and then walk under the railway. Cross the road and head up the bridlepath by the railway. Turn right and head down the hill, then left and along the path through the railway tunnel to its far side.

This location is private and has no or limited access only. The camp is private MOD land, but the Elham Valley Way runs across St. Martin's Plain and under the bridge seen in the story.
