White Street
Southall, Middlesex, UB1 1QZ
During the height of Southall Gas Works, staff employed there were able to live in specially built houses on the estate itself, on a road called White Street - they even had their own pub, the White Lion! However, when the works wound down the homes were eventually demolished and much of the site is now used for secure parking.
There are currently plans to build a new residential estate on the grounds of the old gas works.
