Lulworth Cove is a shall-shaped cove that forms part of the Lulworth Estate on the Dorset coast. Formed over millions of years, the cove and surrounding cliffs are now recognised as a World Heritage Jurassic site.

How to get here:

Road: A35 - Lulworth Cove is accessed off the A352, which heads southeast from Dorchester or southwest from Poole (A351 to Wareham). Follow the A352 to either the B3071 or B3070, and then follow the road to West Lulworth. Parking: Heritage Centre, minimum £2.50 for 2 hours. +

The cliffs are quite steep, so extreme care should be taken if attempting to take shots from the beach!

Stanton Court (Ghostlight). Road (14 miles, 37m): Head out of West Lulworth, following the B3071 toward Wool. When you reach the town, turn left onto the A352 towards Weymouth, which later becomes the A353. Head into Weymouth, keeping to the coastal road. It becomes Greenhill as you pass the seafront gardens, and number 11 is at the far end, just before the one-way system. Parking: double-yellow lines.

Winspit Quarry (Destiny of the Daleks, The Underwater Menace). Road (16.6 miles, 42m): Head out of West Lulworth, following the B3070 until you reach its end junction with the A352. Turn right and head towards Wareham, then at the main roundabout head towards Swanage on the A351. After Corfe Castle, the B3069 is signposted to Worth Matravers and follow this until you reach a junction with a road leading to the vilage itself. Parking: £1.00 at the car park. Parking There is a public car park as you enter the village. £1.00 for the day.

Warmwell Quarry (The Greatest Show in the Galaxy, Survival). Road (10.1 miles, 30m): Head out of West Lulworth, following the B3071 toward Wool. When you reach the town, turn left onto the A352 towards Weymouth. When you reach the main roundabout after the dual carriageway, turn right onto the B3390, and head through Warmwell village towards Crossways. The quarry is on the left, just after the Warmwell Holiday Park. Parking: roadside.

Binnegar Heath Sand Pit (Destiny of the Daleks). Road: Head out of West Lulworth, following the B3070 until you reach its end junction with the A352. Turn right and head towards Wareham, then turn left onto Tolpuddle Road. The quarry is on the right hand side just as the speed limit changes from 50mph to the national speed limit. Parking: roadside.
