I had been made aware of the intended disturbance well in advance, so I came prepared with my digital camera and DV camera. Stars of the show John Barrowman and Eve Myles were on set, but as yet I haven't managed to catch a shot of either of them (most of the set is blocked from my view by cabinets). The scene that they are shooting takes place in the call centre for fictional company "Passmore Telesales". Here are my photos on flickr. (followup post about the broadcast here)

West Bute Street: SFX news item: The Doctor Who production team are out and about filming on the streets of Cardiff again. Our spies contacted us today to tell us that they had blocked off a street in Bute, near Cardiff Bay train station. We don't know which episode they.re shooting, but because of the presence of soldiers in red caps, our guess is that they're filming pick-up shots for the two-parter "Aliens Of London". Our unofficial Cardiff Correspondent, Darren Floyd, brings us this roving report: "Cycled down and saw the back of a man with close cropped hair and a leather jacket and I actually said aloud "Oh my God!" and nearly fell off my bike... but it was some other ****er in a C and A jacket! Saw Rose's boyfriend getting in a car a few times and some soldiers walking back and forth. Some guy came up to me and said 'Must be a bomb!'. He didn't sound bothered at all, and I just giggled and said 'Yeah!'". (originally an online article, but the link no longer works.)
22nd September 2004:
St Mary's Street: Dave Edwards: my house is in the episode The Unquiet Dead. I didn't know it was being used for outside shots until I got home from work one day and found it decorated with snow and ivy, the latter used to cover tv and telephone cables. It was great fun, the street was closed off to the public but because I lived there and got quite chummy with one of the production crew. I was there right amongst it while it was being filmed, I was stood behind the camera watching most of the time. I opened my door at one time and Chris Ecclestone was stood right outside it with Simon Callow! I said hello and shook his hand and later while watching from my upstairs lounge window Chris saw me looking and sent my way one of those cheesey wide grins that he does. The crew used "The Malt House" next door to me for the break, including Billie Piper who I met as well, also stood outside my house for a while was Eve Miles, filming the horse carriage shots.

Lucas CAV: Paul Champion, 23rd Aug 2007: "I was working in the building that was used for the shot - gosh -how time flies. On top of the building and at its southern end (near to the corner of Cobbold Road) is the 'services room' or roof space. This is where such things as the ventilation equipment, lift-head-gear etc., is housed; no one works up there. It was this part of the building that served as the ready made set." Paul has written a more detailed reflection for the filming archive.

Trenethick Barton: Bob Turner, 11th Jan 2009: I can confirm that the location for the squires house is indeed Trenethick Barton as I lived there at the time, as an 11 year old I was most upst to discover that the TARDIS came flat packed in the back of a lorry. Only about 3 minutes of the actual programme used scenes filmed at Trenethick, the crew arrived prior to me going to school and were still there filming when I came back at the end of the day. I also remember seeing the squire mount his horse from a set of 'granite' steps, which when the director called cut, were picked up and carried away by one man as they were polystyrene.
