The kerb along this stretch of Queen Victoria Street was extended during the 1990's, so the manhole cover is now on the pavement rather than in the street! (It is also not the cover on screen, which was a lightweight copy).

General Details

»

The College of Arms is official repository of the many Coats of Arms of the UK and Commonwealth. The building dates back to the 1670s, when it was built on the site of the original college, Derby Place, which was destroyed during the Great Fire of London in 1666. Originally a complete quadangle, the now front of the building was demolished during the construction of Queen Victoria Street in the 1860s. The gates as featured in The Invasion were erected in 1956.
