Tank Quarry
Malvern, Worcestershire
Tank Quarry was started circa 1872 on North Hill in the Malverns, and was owned by Thomas William Morgan and then Pyx Granite Co Ltd. The quarry operated until 1970 - in spite of the Malvern Hills Act of 1924 stating that hill quarrying should cease by 1960, extensions were granted to enable quarrying to continue (it was active at time of filming for The Krotons). Since then, Worcestershire Country Council have infilled much of the site, and it is now managed by the Malvern Hills Conservators.
