Chelesmore Manor House
Manor House Drive, Coventry, CV1 2ND
Dating from the 13th Century, the Manor House once belonged to Queen Isabella, the wife of Edward II, and subsequently to Edward "the Black Prince". It was bought by WH Eaton in 1871, who become Lord Cheylesmore in 1887.
Allowed to decay, the building came under threat of demolition, with part destroyed in 1955, but the council prevented complete destruction and the building was restored in the 1960s. It is now used as a Registry Office (the oldest in the country).
