"Cinema City" was founded in 1937 by Benito Mussolini, but was bombed during WWII. Afterwards it became a focal point of Italian film-making, principly for the director Federico Fellini; international films such as Ben Hur and more recently Gangs of New York were also filmed there. It was privatised by the Italian Government in the 1980s.

Metro: Route A - Exit at the Cinecittà station; the studios are on Via Tuscolana along the north-eastern side of the road. +

Road: Via Tuscolana - The road is on the south-eastern side of Rome; follow it to Cinecittà and the studios are on the left-hand side. +
