The seemingly desolate land at the Warren is actually holds the remains of a tin mining industry that was even larger than in Cornwall. It is a part of the Dartmoor National Park. The nearby Warren House Inn (PL20 6TA) is the highest pub in England.

How to get here:

Road: A38 - Follow the A38 southwest from Exeter towards Plymouth. When you reach Heathfield, turn right onto the A382 towards Bovey Tracey and continue through onto Moretonhampstead. Turn left into Ford Street and then into New Street, and then follow the B3212 for around 4.5 miles to the Warren (near Lakeland). (~23.4 miles, 32m) +
