Southerndown Beach
Ogmore Vale, Bridgend, Wales

The Southern Down Beach is the second largest sandy beach on the coast of South Wales outside of Barry. It also has the second largest tidal range in the world.

How to get here:

Road: M4 - Exit the M4 at junction 35, and then follow the A473 towards Bridgend. When you reach the roundabout with the A48, continue west (2nd exit), then turn left at the next roundabout onto the B4265 (Ewenny Road). Follow this to St Brides Major, then turn right onto the B4524 (Bull Hill). When you reach Southerndown turn left onto Beach Road and follow this to the car park. (3.5 miles, 16m) +
