Road: A23 - Follow the A23 to Pyecombe; from there turn north onto the A273, and this leads up to Clayton. Turn right into Underhill Lane. +

Parking Details

You can park on the road outside the church.

Where to walk

Walk east from the church, and the bridlepath is on the right-hand side. Follow the path up the hill and then pass through the gate onto the hills.

It isn't entirely clear if this is the same track, or if the original was elsewhere on the hills and subsequently gone. Being the hills are quite steep it seems unlikely the ambulance would have been driven much further away!

The sequence following, where Jamie meets up with Lady Jennifer, is also filmed on these hills, but it wasn't possible to work out exactly where in amongst the humps and bumps - if not eroded away of course!

High Park Farm (The War Games). Road (2.9 miles, 6m) : Head east along Underhill Lane. When you reach the crossroads, turn right into Ditchling Road and follow it as it weaves up the hill. Once at the top High Park Farm will eventually appear on the left hand side of the road, just before a forest. Parking Limited, by farm gate.

Exit at Bolney and head west along the A272 to Cowfold. At Cowfold, turn right on the roundabouts onto the A281, then continue onto Crabtree. Mill Lane will be on the right. Parking The lane is quite narrow and there is nowhere to park up by the pond. There is a parking area outside numbers 18-23, and you can then walk down to the bridlepath (on the left).
