At the International Gallery

, security move into place
to guard King Athelstan's cup

,
little realising they are about to be robbed from above

!
The Lady Christina de Souza makes her getaway through
the museum

, and as alarms blare out she slips out of the back

and onto the high street. As police close in

she blags her way onto a bus to escape

.
On board she meets the Doctor, who is monitoring a 'wormhole' nearby.
As the police give chase to the bus

, it enters a
tunnel

, so
they set up a roadblock

.
But the bus suddenly vanishes ...
... arriving on a desert planet in a battered state

! As the Doctor
explains what happened,
the bus driver tries to get back through the 'door' only to emerge as
a skeleton at the far side

. The police call UNIT to assist

. Meanwhile,
The Doctor and Christina explore the desert, spying a storm in the
distance

. The Doctor makes plans for how they can escape in the bus
once sufficiently repaired, and then he and Christina head out once more.
They are captured by a Tritovore who, once back at their ship

and explained they are friends, discover the desert was once a lush
planet San Helios, but destroyed by a swarm of "metallic stingrays".
The Doctor works out the wormhole will enable them to get to Earth, but with
the ship damaged he suggest the anto-gravity system to patch the bus.
Only they are at the bottom of a well

! Christina uses her harnesses to
retrieve the device, but the stingrays are on board and kill the
Tritovores.
Back to the bus, and the Doctor uses the anti-gravity devices to
'fly' the bus back through the wormhole

, though three stingrays follow

.
UNIT are able to defeat them, and their scientific advisor Malcolm closes
the wormhole.
The Doctor is reunited with the TARDIS, and Christina escapes the police
who arrested her in the bus

. But the Doctor is left with an ominous
message for the future ...
