BBC Studios
Upper Boat, Tonteg Road, Treforest Industrial Estate, Pontypridd, CF37 5UA
The BBC leased new studios at Upper Boat in early 2006 in order to have dedicated studio facilities for Doctor Who and the spin-off series Torchwood and Sarah Jane Investigates. The site is the largest studio complex ever built in Wales, some 10 times the size of BBC Wales in Cardiff. It was officially opened on 27th July 2006 by Welsh Enterprise Minister Andrew Davies.
How to get here:
»
Road: M4 - Exit the M4 at junction 32, and head north towards Pontypridd on the A470. At the Treforest Industrial Estate/Upper Boat exit, take the second exit off the roundabout, crossing the river, and then turn right onto Tonteg Road. The studios are on the right-hand side as the road bears left. +

There is limited parking opposite the footpath by the gate to the waterworks. Or you could stop at the petrol garage.

Follow the footpath and Upper Boat is visible on your right.
This location is private and has no or limited access only. The studios are private, but the western side may be seen from a public footpath that runs alongside.
